Product Description

The pneumatic magnetic switch is a non-contact position sensor that utilizes the magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet ring on the cylinder piston to trigger the on-off state of an externally mounted magnetic sensor (such as a reed switch or a Hall element), thereby outputting an electrical signal to indicate the position of the piston. ‌‌
Core structure: The cylinder piston is equipped with a built-in permanent magnetic ring, and the outside of the cylinder is fitted with a magnetic switch (commonly of the reed switch or Hall switch type).
Trigger mechanism: When the piston movement brings the magnetic ring close to the switch sensing area (usually a few millimeters to a few tens of millimeters), the magnetic field strength exceeds the threshold, causing the ferromagnetic reed inside the reed switch to be magnetized and attracted (conducting), or the Hall element outputs a voltage change, resulting in a circuit state switch (normally open to closed/signal output).
Non-contact detection: The magnetic field can penetrate stainless steel/aluminum cylinder walls, eliminating the need for physical contact and achieving position feedback with minimal wear, fast response, and long lifespan.
Application scenario: Used to determine whether the cylinder is "extended in place" or "retracted in place". The signal is connected to the PLC or control circuit to achieve automatic travel limit and motion coordination. ‌‌
This principle does not rely on mechanical touch, and is only sensitive to strong magnets (such as magnetic rings), with no reaction to ordinary metals; the switch reset relies on the magnetic field weakening after the magnetic ring is moved away (the reed switch is disconnected by the elastic force of the reed, while the Hall type is determined by the internal circuit)
